Charts, logos, icons and diagrams are often drawn as vector graphics instead of being stored as images. Switch to Full pages to save each page as a sharp image at up to 300 DPI. Also check the small-image filter: set it to Keep all if you're looking for small logos.

Yes. A scanned PDF usually stores each page as one large image, so Embedded images returns one picture per scanned page in its original scan resolution.

Yes. The tool works in Safari, Chrome and other mobile browsers. On iPhone the images are saved to the Files app, and from there you can add them to Photos. Very large PDFs are faster on a computer.

PNG is lossless and keeps transparent backgrounds, which is best for logos and graphics. JPG gives much smaller files and is fine for photos. You can switch the format after extraction without starting over.

Yes. If the PDF needs a password to open, you'll be asked for it. The password is only used in your browser to open the file.

Adobe Acrobat Pro can export images via Export PDF, then Image, with the option to export all images. It needs a paid subscription. The free Acrobat Reader has no image export, which is why a browser tool is the quickest free option.

The tool checks what's actually inside the file, not just its name. Ebooks in EPUB format are sometimes downloaded with a .pdf ending. Those aren't PDFs, so images can't be extracted here.

This tool saves pages as image files with Full pages mode. If you want to pull pages out into a new PDF document, that's a different task and needs a PDF page extractor.
